Financial data retrieval library

Previous page: Overview

Before we delve into the controls, let's take a closer look at the classes that retrieve the asset prices.  These are:

Name Purpose Example of context data
LsePriceScraper Retrieves current price of shares traded on the London stock exchange "BP"
MorningstarPriceScraper Retrieves the bid price or NAV of a fund listed on the Morningstar website "F0GBR06JUA" or
"F0GBR06K0M"
NysePriceScraper Retrieves current price of shares traded on the New York stock exchange "MSFT"
QuoteGoldScraper Retrieves the spot gold price N/A - just pass empty string

Of course, these just scratch the surface of what's possible.  Feel free to add more classes to the library.  They all follow pretty much the same pattern: retrieve a web page and use a regular expression to pick the asset price out of it.
